CIBfx Review 2026: 1.3 Stars From 83 Reviews — Why?

By Chris Halloran · Last updated: 23 October 2026 · 9 min read

Quick answer: CIBfx is a Latin-America-focused forex and CFD broker claiming 15+ years in the market and 500+ instruments. It advertises vague self-regulation by an “International Forex & CFD Services Authority.” Its public review score is 1.3 from 83 reviews, driven almost entirely by withdrawal complaints.

Most CIBfx review pages tell you about the 60 currency pairs and eight CFD categories. Fewer tell you that the broker has the worst customer score in our entire scan.

What is CIBfx?

CIBfx — Capital Investment Brokers — positions itself as the “#1 broker in Latin America,” with a portfolio of 60+ currency pairs including exotics, plus CFDs across crypto, shares, futures, commodities, energies, indices and metals. It runs the MT4 platform, an open account flow at cabinet.cibfx.com, and a demo.

The regulation problem

CIBfx’s own disclaimer states it is “authorized by International Forex & CFD Services Authority.” That is not the FCA, not ASIC, not CySEC. It’s a private-sounding body, and the broker never quite names a licence number in its own footer.

It also publishes LEI registration documents — which is a good sign, because an LEI is verifiable — but an LEI is an identifier, not a regulator.

Then there’s the client-scope carve-out. CIBfx’s own fine print says the site is not intended for residents of the EU, UK, US, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Japan, Iran and North Korea. That’s an unusually long exclusion list, and it means the broker is structurally built for the markets it can operate in without Tier-1 scrutiny.

Finally, its platform page calls MT4 “MTT,” which is the kind of small sloppiness that shows up throughout the site.

What 83 customer reviews say

The score is 1.3. But the interesting part is when the good reviews were written: 2018 and 2019. Nearly everything since is 1 star.

1 star, Apr 2025: “I invested 5,500 along 2 years and when I try to retire my money I can’t, they only gave me excuses. This cibfx is fake.”

1 star: “My money is stuck in this broker. I profited but when I need my money I can’t withdraw. I recommended it to one person and he lost everything.”

1 star: “By far the worst customer service… they still haven’t processed my withdrawal.”

5 stars, 2019: “Trading for a couple of years with them and very happy with the service and their support level.”

1 star, verified: “You have to deposit min 500 USD but whenever you want to withdrawal you have to complete 50 lot which is not possible.”

Two things stand out. First, profitable clients report the most trouble — the same pattern as ClickTrades. Second, one reviewer states flatly that CIBfx “is not a permission allowed by the Brazilian national body CVM.”

The replies are also revealing. CIBfx’s support responds by demanding proof that the reviewer is a real customer — including one reply arguing a reviewer “wrote a 1 star review for us and a 5 star review for one of our top competitors at the same time, and besides we don’t do business in India.” Defensive, but at least present.

The bonus trap

The 50-lot rollover condition quoted above is the mechanical cause of most of the misery here. A welcome bonus sounds like free margin. It isn’t — it’s a volume obligation attached to your ability to withdraw the bonus and its profits.

If your deposit is small and your lot sizes are micro, a 50-lot rollover is effectively a multi-year commitment. Read the bonus terms before you accept the coupon, and if in doubt, decline it.

Pros and cons

Pros: very wide instrument range including exotics · long operating history · verifiable LEI registration · MT4 · demo available · Latin America focus where Tier-1 brokers are thin

Cons: 1.3 review score · vague regulator · exclusion list covering most major jurisdictions · bonus rollover conditions · withdrawal complaints dominate recent reviews

Verdict: 4.0 / 10

CIBfx looks like a broker from an earlier era of retail forex: wide instrument list, bonus-led acquisition, offshore paperwork, and a withdrawal process that becomes the customer’s problem. The 2018–2019 reviews suggest it once worked well. The 2022–2025 reviews suggest it stopped.
